This beautifully detailed courtyard showing the archways and windows in every stroke. The etching is very architectural but softened by the vines creeping over the walls and columns. Loving cleverly draws the eye through the arch to the figure walking past.

Eugene E. Loving arrived in New Orleans during the Great Depression, attracted to the exotic allure of bohemian life that thrived in the French Quarter during that time. A brilliant etcher, he helped revive an interest in the centuries-old form.
