Description: Salvador Dali and The Surrealist Angel, The Angel whose form, grace and disinterest have illuminated the whole of Dali's passionately out-sized life-in-art. A major work and the testament of a giant. The Angel is published in a strict and exclusive limited edition of 1500 worldwide. In addition, 30 were designated for Dali and the editor in equal numbers. These are identified by Roman numerals.
The Angel is bronze with black patina and stands 17 inches on a 4 3/4 inch pedestal. Each numbered 1/1500 to 1500/1500, and bears both Dali's signature and foundry stamp. Founded by Strehle of Bavaria, these are unique, original lost-wax castings, and each has its authenticity attested by both the Societe de la Propriete Artistique et Dessins et Modeles (S.P.A.D.E.M.) in Paris, and a notarial certificate.
